Eldorado/Silverado gives you a glimpse behind the scenes of actors and musicians.
In Theatre Markant they get close to you and you can see up close how they plunge into a theater text and a piece of music.
Silverado is a small show with one actor, one musician and a small local choir; Smartlappenkoor Goei Volluk. It is a prologue to the great music theater piece Eldorado that will be played on location in Brabant later this season. Eldorado/Silverado deals in a light-hearted way about the changing life in the Brabant countryside, about the problems of farmers, about vacancy and about how close undermining is to all of us.
In this performance, Silverado, we zoom in on Dora, the farmer’s wife from Eldorado. We see her doubts, her struggle, her laconic commentary and her secret thoughts. The music in the performance is her fickle interlocutor: the music comforts, joins the conversation, cheers up, contradicts, manipulates and reflects.
