Slotkoor is an annual summer project for chamber choir singers. In a week, a romantic hunting lodge in Northern Bavaria will study a program that will be implemented in the Netherlands both there and in September.
After two years, the Slotkoor will return to Markt Nordheim. We are looking forward to seeing Schloss Seehaus and his lord Jan, the chapel, the orangery and the garden. We look forward to seeing the villagers again, the butcher, the baker, the pastor and the mayor; the wine of the Probst family and the dinners of our own chefs in the castle garden.
A reunion is exciting and uncertain because something always changes during your absence. Was soll ich nun vom Wiedersehen court? 74-year-old Goethe therefore wonders in the 2013 Elegance by Kurt Bikkembergs, written for the first lustrum of the Slotkoor. What has never changed with 10 years of Slotkoor is the fixed recipe for the Polyphony: Psalms by Sweelinck in small instrumentations.
In the composition of David Lang, Ruth expresses her unconditional love for Naomi: wherever you go, I will go with you. In Figure Humaine by Poulenc, Paul Eluard makes us believe that even after the darkest periods of war and oppression, we will always see the light again, because the name of freedom is written everywhere. Sparkling like the stars in the sky night of Taneyev.
