Eddy & the Ethiopians

Eddy & the Ethiopians arose in 2013 from lively sessions in the boiler house of the former Philips shop now known as TAC in Eindhoven. Saxophonist/composer and bandleader Edward Capel met some Ethiopian musicians during international tours with singer/dancer Minyeshu Kifle from Ethiopia. This resulted in a melting pot of musicians from different countries such as Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Suriname, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and just as many different styles of music that together in an adventurous way under the inspiring leadership of saxophonist Edward “Eddy” Capel make a searing combination of Ethiopiques. , 70’s afrobeat, jazz and exciting funk.
