PRESSRELEASE: HARMONIE IN DE LINIE Witte Rook presents on sunday the 30th of september 2018 Harmonie in de Linie. At 16.00 hrs a special music performance is taking place in Liniekwartier in Breda. Between the remains of the former Euretcoloods, the music association Vondel plays in the hidden heart of the neighborhood.
Together with the dancers of Dansnest and music artist / composer Bart van Dongen, this musical experience is not only a spectacle for the ear, but also for the eye and the heart. Let dancers guide you, they will attract your attention and stimulate your field of vision with their dance skills. Harmony in the Line, the name says it all: a harmonious connection in the neighborhood through art, music and dance.
Prior to the performance there is an art route that starts with art initiative Witte Rook. This route runs through unknown places such as studios, homes and shops where you can see work by artists, made in the neighborhood, over the neighborhood or inspired by the neighborhood. Liniekwartier is a neighborhood where art and culture have become increasingly self-evident. The art route eventually leads to the concrete foundation on the Keplerweg, a piece of industrial history from the neighborhood, once a shed for textiles, now an ideal stage for this experimental performance.
In 2019 a special composition will be created for the neighborhood, over the neighborhood and with the neighborhood. The pilot in 2018 is intended to exchange ideas, try them out and get new ideas. The composition is a gift to the neighborhood, the city, the people and after the performance in 2019 may lead a life of its own.
From 2020, the redevelopment of the Euretco site will most likely take shape and as a result, the current buildings will be demolished and replaced by new buildings (houses and apartments). We say goodbye and herald a new beginning.
